CLARE EDUCATION CENTRE

The main functions of Clare Education Centre include a requirement to support the in-service needs of the state and to identify and support locally identified needs. The Centre supports 150 schools (primary and second level schools) and 1,500+ teachers in Co. Clare.

Clare Education Centre also hosts the Leadership Development for Schools (LDS) programme.on behalf of the Department of Education and Science. The LDS programme provides leadership training for over 4,000 Irish schools.

The Centre is part of a group of 21 Full Time Education Centres and nine Centres operating on a Part-time basis supported principally by the Department of Education and Science.

In addition to the functions noted above Clare Education Centre has, in recent years, been involved in Intercultural Projects with Centres in European Union countries.
