Webinar – Meaningful Free Writing - Making the most of independent writing experiences

This webinar will focus on developing teacher’s understanding of the power of free writing and how it can be an excellent opportunity for writing practise for all children from Junior Infants to 6th Class. It will discuss how teachers set up the Free Writing process in their own classrooms which will lead to meaningful and positive writing experiences for the children and the production of good quality writing rather than it just being a ‘filler’ activity which so often it is. This will be done through an exploration of samples of children’s free writing that I have collected.

Due to our current situation with COVID-19 and working with children remotely there will also be a discussion on ‘Free Writing from home’ and how we can engage children in writing tasks that can continue to help them explore and write a wide variety of texts.
