Rainbows Ireland Workshop: Supporting Children who have Experienced Bereavement in the Primary School Setting

Target Audience: Primary Teachers, SNA’s & SET’s

Rainbows is a free, inclusive, voluntary service for children and young people experiencing loss following bereavement and parental separation/parental relationship breakdown /divorce.

Overview of Bereavement Webinar:

  • Introduction to the work of Rainbows Ireland
  • Overview of Childhood Bereavement and the Bereavement Care Pyramid
  • Introduction to Theory and Research
  • Overview of children’s reactions to grief
  • Suggestions for support – what helps within the school setting
  • Sharing resources and links for signposting

Presenter: Kate O'Neill

Kate O Neill is an experienced primary school teacher with a passion for children’s wellbeing. She has volunteered with Rainbows Ireland since 2010. She has worked as a Programme Facilitator and Programme Co-ordinator in her school. She is part of the Rainbows Ireland National Training Team who train Programme Facilitators to deliver the Rainbows Programme.
