
Steering STEAM: How To Implement STEAM Across The Primary Curriculum - Summer Course 2024 (P)

This course will afford the opportunity
• to engage in CPD relevant to pupils’ learning
• to develop STEM education which is identified as a priority in SSE Update 13
• for teacher leaders to promote a culture of improvement, collaboration, innovation and creativity in learning, teaching and assessment
• for those leading school self-evaluation to engage with a structured process with a focus on improving teaching, learning and assessment (especially in the area of STEM)
• for teachers to share their expertise( STEM learning) with the whole staff
• for teachers to explore ways to allow pupils make meaningful connections between learning in different curriculum areas
• for teachers to enable pupils to transfer and apply skills learned in one context to another context
• for teachers to increase the uptake of STEM subjects for learners of all backgrounds, ability and gender
• for teachers to participate in STEM education through informal, co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes
• to explore the use of recyclable materials during STEAM activities
• to experience the STEAM ‘way of working’
