Attention: Transition Year students - Craggaunowen, one of Ireland’s leading heritage and cultural sites, is offering a free skills training programme designed to give TY students practical, hands-on experience.
I am writing to introduce an exciting opportunity for Transition Year students. Craggaunowen, one of Ireland’s leading heritage and cultural sites, is offering a free skills training programme designed to give TY students practical, hands-on experience in areas such as:
- Blacksmithing- demonstration & workshop
- Leatherwork- demonstration & workshop
- Spinning, weaving & wool dyeing- demonstration & workshop
- Wattle fence production & clay sculptures -demonstration & workshop
The programme will run on selected dates across October, interested schools will get the opportunity to select a date, with workshops taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each workshop will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and schools will be split into smaller groups to ensure that every student benefits from a meaningful hands-on experience.
Additional details:
- The programme is free of charge
- Transport is included
- Students are asked to bring their own lunch
We believe this programme offers students a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills in a unique cultural setting while enhancing their educational experience and future employability.
We would be delighted to partner with your school and welcome your students to Craggaunowen. If this opportunity is of interest, I would be happy to provide further details or discuss arrangements.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to the possibility of working with you.
Yours sincerely,
Steven Ryan
