These sessions, held online and face-to-face at Education Centres across the country, will equip teachers with practical and engaging coding activities suitable for all class levels. Coding Hub for Teachers What is computational thinking? Where does coding fit within the curriculum? How do I access professional learning and classroom resources on these topics? With EU Code Week approaching, you can find the answers on the Coding and Computational Thinking hub on our website. Suitable for teachers at all levels. Online Courses
Online Course introducing Coding (Primary) This is a highly interactive course providing teachers with an introduction to coding and computational thinking, a step-by-step guide to using Scratch and access to a wealth of online resources and lesson ideas. Although not the main target audience for this course, post-primary teachers are also welcome and will benefit from the course and its resources.
Attn: Post-Primary MFL Teachers Post-primary Modern Foreign Language (MFL) teachers will be interested to hear that our online course on Digital Technology for MFL Teachers is available again this year. Taking just three hours at times and at a pace of your own choosing, you will gain skills and access resources over three modules covering listening skills, speaking skills and assessment. Developed in partnership with PPLI.
Podcasting and the PLC Our short online course for primary teachers demonstrates the benefits of podcasting and how it supports the Primary Language Curriculum. It also introduces some podcast creation tools and invites participants to create a sample podcast. You can learn a new skill and make use of it to benefit learning in your classroom! Good Practice

EU Code Week: Immersive Lesson Plan For EU Code Week Scoilnet has an immersive lesson plan for 5th & 6th class, which introduces AI's applications in protecting oceans. Through hands-on coding activities, students learn about AI training, potential mistakes, and ethical considerations, fostering problem-solving skills and environmental awareness.
Webwise Youth Programme - Now Open! Applications are now open for the Safer Internet Day Ambassador Training Programme! This peer-to-peer youth training programme is open to all post-primary students interested in leading a Safer Internet Day campaign in their own school, club or community. This is also a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Looking for fresh ideas for Croke Park hours? Tutors from your local Education Centre are available to facilitate one of three engaging workshops on digital citizenship for your school. Topics covered include media and information literacy, online wellbeing, and promoting the safe and responsible use of technology. These sessions can be delivered as a webinar, making them a flexible option for staff development. To request a workshop, simply contact your local Education Centre.
Webwise Parents Hub Introduce parents to the Webwise Parents Hub — a free resource designed to help them feel confident supporting their child online. It includes expert advice, explainer guides, conversation starters, practical how-to guides, and a range of online safety booklets and resources that schools can share with families in their community. Maths Week Ireland 2025 Maths Week is fast approaching! It takes place from 11th to 19th October. Its ethos is 'Maths for All' and the mission is mission is to promote positive attitudes towards maths; to advance the understanding of maths and its impact on our world; and to further the understanding of our world through maths.
