Intimate Care Training

Target Audience: Primary and Post Primary SNA’s and Teachers
Intimate Care refers to any personal care activity that a child/student may need assistance with, and which involves physical closeness, personal privacy, or contact with private areas of the body. It usually applies to younger children or students with additional care needs.
The course will include reflection of our legal requirements and best practice and reference the importance of your local policy within your education setting.
- Toileting (e.g., assisting a child who has a toileting accident)
- Changing clothes
- Washing or cleaning a child after an accident
- Menstrual care if a student needs support
- Medical or personal hygiene tasks requiring privacy

We focus on best practice, recent guidance to ensure you can meet the requirements place on staff to assist and heighten the child’s/student’s capacity to function while also ensuring we meet our safeguarding requirements.
