The ABC’s of Physical Literacy for Primary Educators
Date: Tuesday 10th March 2026
Time: 7.00 - 8.00 pm
Venue: Online via Zoom
Target Audience: Primary School Teachers (All class levels), Parents, Coaches
Physical literacy is about far more than learning physical skills. It is about giving children the confidence, competence, and motivation to move, play, and participate for life. In a world where many children are becoming less active and more screen focused, schools play a vital role in helping pupils develop a positive relationship with movement from an early age.
This practical and engaging webinar will explore what physical literacy really means in a primary school context and why it is so important for children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Teachers will gain a clear understanding of how physical literacy supports wellbeing, learning, and long term engagement in physical activity, along with realistic strategies that can be used in everyday school settings.
The session will focus on what teachers can do in the classroom, yard, and PE lessons to support all children, regardless of ability, to become confident, capable, and motivated movers.
