This 2-part webinar is suitable for teachers of first and second classes, this series of webinars explores concrete and visual ways to explore the basic number facts for ADDITION and SUBTRACTION (aka Tables) with children in such a way that they:
- gain a better understanding of the connections between and among these number facts
- are enabled to develop and use thinking strategies to perform mental calculations beyond the traditional limits of tables.
The webinars will also explore a variety of approaches and activities, most based on simple, readily available resources that can be used to foster mathematical modelling, rich maths talk and the development of a productive disposition to maths, all of which are also key pedagogies of the 2023 Primary Mathematics Curriculum.
Presenter: Claire Corroon
Claire is an experienced primary teacher and a seasoned facilitator of Maths courses, delivered both online and in person. She is also a prolific author of maths books published by Edco, including the acclaimed Maths and Me program and Number Facts series.
